March 31, 1941 - April 16, 2021
Bobby Lee Leatherman, 80, of Hickory, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 16, 2021, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Bobby was born March 31, 1941, in Cleveland County, to the late Forest Edward and Vernie Brown Leatherman. He was retired from the furniture industry and was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Gene, James, Harold, and Teddy Leatherman; and sisters, Helen L. Young, Jo Nan L. Raybon, and Willa Dean L. Reece.
Survivors include his sisters, Polly (Harold) Anderson of Taylorsville and Peggy (Joe) Francis of Midland; sister-in-law, Jan Leatherman of Lenoir; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and -nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 2, at Palm Tree United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Prichard officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Serenity House for the outstanding care given to Bobby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Palm Tree United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 129, Vale, NC 28168.
