Bryan Scruggs Obituary
Bryan K. Scruggs, 59, of Sanford, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. Scruggs was born in Asheville, grew up in Waynesville, moved to Thomasville and graduated High School from Brandy's High School. After high school, he attended and played football at Gardner-Webb University. Following college, Bryan worked with NCDOT, then went to wildlife school. In 2012, he retired from the NC Wildlife Resource Commission as a wildlife law enforcement officer. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and teaching as a hunter safety instructor. He loved to cook for his family and friends, watching his kid's sporting events, and having the teenagers at their house.
Bryan is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Jarvis Scruggs; two sons, Kyle Scruggs and Kale Scruggs; parents, John and Shirley Scruggs of Conover; other in-law, Nell Jarvis Buchanan of Sherrills Ford; two sisters-in-law, Crystal Yancey of Sherrills Ford, and Cindy Brittian of Catawba; several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, at Cool Springs Baptist Church.
