February 20, 1944 - March 6, 2022
Calvin Davis Mundy, 78, of Newton, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Carolina Caring, Newton.
He was born Feb. 20, 1944, in Catawba County, the son of the late Harold Mundy and Alma Sipe Mundy Bentley. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and employed in the furniture industry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jewell Marrow, Carolyn Worley, Marilyn Benge and Judy Christopher.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mundy; son, Tony Mundy and husband, Roger Moore, of Newton; daughter, Crystal Mundy of Newton; grandsons, Brandon Serrano and Justin Serrano; sister, Nancy Brown of Statesville; and brother-in-law, Phillip Marrow.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 10, at Woodlawn Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mike Daughtrey officiating. A private burial will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.
Masks will be required for the visitation and funeral service.
