Charles Stroupe Obituary

Charles Stroupe CONOVER Charles Franklin Stroupe, 84, of Conover, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2011, at his residence. Born June 2, 1927, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Glenn and Estelle Womack Stroupe. He was a retired over- the-road long distance truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Lee Stroupe and James Michael Stroupe, and a daughter, Frances Loretta Stroupe Means; and a son-in-law, Jerry Wagner. Survivors include two sons, William A. (Bill) of Frankfort, Ky. and Gary Phillip Stroupe and his wife, Sandy, of Louisville, Ky., and six daughters, Alice Elizabeth Stroupe, Betty Stroupe Heiby, and Margaret Stroupe Wagner, of Chillicothe, Ohio; Anna Stroupe Seelinger and her husband, Bill, of Frankfort, Ky.; Rhoanda Stroupe Wilson of Frankfort, Ky., and Mary Stroupe White of Conover; his daughter-in-law, Tersia Gales Stroupe of Valley Station, Ky.; 22 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at Drum Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ingle officiating. His family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Drum Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the Stroupe family at www.drumfuneralhome.com. The Stroupe family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.
