Clay Sipe Obituary

Clay Sipe MAIDEN Clay Douglas Sipe, 50, of Jim Beard Rd., Maiden passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at his residence. Born July 16, 1961 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Calvin Richard "Pete" Sipe and the late Dorothy Love Sipe. Clay was a member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. He was a faithful volunteer at Abernethy Laurels and was a Board member of D.F.L Ministries. Survivors include two brothers, Rick Sipe and his wife, Robin of Maiden, and Ted Sipe and his wife, Teresa of Maiden; two sisters, Pam Canipe and her husband, James of Vale, and Linda Morris and her husband, Mike of Maiden; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden with the Revs. Stephen Rector, Marion Powell, and Nathaniel Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today, Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. Memorials may be made to Gideons International P.O. Box 1409, Lincolnton, NC 28093 and/or D.F.L. Ministries, 5045 East Maiden Rd., Maiden, NC 28650.
