Conrad Hefner Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Wilkesboro Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Hefner, Dr. Robert Hefner and Mrs. Christina Browning officiating.
Conrad was born on September 23, 1950, in Catawba County to Ralph and Ona Pope Hefner. Conrad married the love of his life, Elaine, on August 2, 1970. He pastored five churches during nearly 50 years of ministry. He deeply longed to be reunited with his wife and to be with his Lord in heaven.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Elaine Couch Hefner and one sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Browning (Blake) of Covington, Kentucky; sons, Dr. Christopher Hefner (Jean) of Wilkesboro, Dr. Robert Hefner (Diana) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Keeton, Joseph Hefner, William Hefner, Nathan Hefner and two brothers and four sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilkesboro Baptist Church, 300 W Main St, Wilkesboro, NC 28697; the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 9, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659, or Mountain Valley Hospice, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.

Chris, Robert and Christina, I was sorry to hear of your Dad's homegoing. Me and my first husband (Charles & Linda Farr) were friends with your Mom & Dad. We went to church with them when your grandfather, Dexter Couch, was pastor at Calvary Baptist in Hickory. We spent many good times together and I still cherish those memories. Your Mom was also a precious friend. Sending love and prayers to all of you.
