Danny Y. Hoyle

VALDESE - Mr. Danny Yates Hoyle, 70, of Valdese, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Valdese Hospital following a brief illness. Danny was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Burke County to the late Loy Edgar Hoyle and Ruth Brittain Hoyle. He was previously employed as a supervisor with the Waldensian Bakery and retired from the maintenance department with Ray Childers Elementary School. In addition to his parents, his first wife, Joyce Deal; his second wife, Barbara Yates; and two brothers, Grady Dwight Hoyle and Loy Edgar Hoyle Jr., preceded him in death. Survivors include his two daughters, Vickie Hefner and husband, Dale, of Newton and Vanda Brock and husband, Jim, of Morganton; two brothers, Robert "Pete" Hoyle of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and the Rev. Michael Hoyle and wife, Brenda, of Hickory; three sisters, Azalee Carter and husband, Bill, of Texas, Pat Lowman and husband, C.D., of Connelly Springs and Gail Ayers and husband, David, of Hampstead; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Hoyle. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Amber Green, Shanna Green-Jones, Brody Green, Kim Smith, Heather Smith-McEnnerney, Chris Brock and Justin Hefner; one great-granddaughter, Addison Green; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with the family to receive friends following the service.
