April 7, 1948 - August 5, 2021
Earnest Conelly Robinson Jr., 73, of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021.
Ernie was born April 7, 1948, in Catawba County, to Myrtle Fox Robinson and the late Ernest Conley Robinson Sr. He was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Ernie was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of American Legion Post 544. He was a CPA for Lane Furniture and then he was with Lazy Boy Corporation. Later in life, he was an administrator for Tri-City Baptist Church and volunteered for the Council on Aging.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Iris B. Robinson; son, Sean Robinson and wife, Misty; grandsons, Alston Robinson, Alec Robinson and Noah Bachman; mother, Myrtle F. Robinson; brother, Doug Robinson and wife, Carol; sister, Lisa Owen and husband, Tony; two nieces; and one nephew.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m., at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Sturm officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church; Council of Aging; or Pregnancy Care Center.
