November 3, 1938 - May 13, 2025

Elizabeth "Lib" Ellen Starr Ward, age 86, of Sherrills Ford, NC, passed away May 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 3, 1938, in Catawba County, the daughter of the late Curtis Elmore Starr and Mary Elizabeth Roper Starr. She was a member of Mt. Anderson Baptist Church and retired from the Catawba County Council on Aging. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Glen, Carl, Curt and Ralph Starr; and sisters, Verna Sigmon and Clara Good.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Husband of almost 68 years: Wade "Henry" Ward of the home

Sons: Jeff Ward of Sherrills Ford and Chris Ward and wife, Susan of Newton

Grandchildren: Brandon Ward and wife, Danielle of Denver, Holly Canella and husband, Chris of Sherrills Ford, Tiffany Marks and husband, Trevor of Catawba, Whitney Ward of Bethlehem and Hayley Ward of Bethlehem

Great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Lakynn, Sadie, Ryder, Grayson and Asher

Sister-in-law: Merle Starr of Wyoming

A memorial service to celebration Lib's life will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Mt. Anderson Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Cline and Rev. Alex Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the church.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Anderson Baptist Church, 4818 Hwy 16 S., Maiden, NC 28650.
