Howard Lafayette McCray

March 4, 1944 - April 12, 2024

Howard Lafayette "Babe" McCray 80, of Claremont, NC and husband of 58 years to the late Joyce Elaine Hollar McCray, passed away at his home on April 12th 2024. In addition to his wife, Howard is preceded in death by his parents Eubert Paul McCray and Grace Irene Little McCray, as well as two brothers Gary and Larry McCray.

Howard is survived by a son Ricky McCray; a daughter Connie McCray; a brother Kenneth McCray and wife Jean; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Howard was a long time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover, NC. He retired from the furniture industry after 40+ years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday April 19, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home. A funeral service will held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 20, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Conover, NC or Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, NC. Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home is honored to take care of the MCcray family during their time of need.
