Jerry Hollar GRANITE FALLS Jerry Lee Hollar, age 65, of Granite Falls, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born January 13, 1946 in Caldwell County, Jerry was the son of Thomas Dale and Rebecca Virginia "Ruby" Yates Hollar. Jerry loved to work on cars and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He is survived by 5 children, Jerry Dean Hollar and wife Kelly of Hickory, Christopher Lee Hollar of Hickory, Teresa Rene Caffrey of Lincoln-ton, David Lee Hollar of Norfolk, Va. and Alecia Hollar. He is also survived by his sister, Linda H. Eller of Lenoir; one aunt, Shirley Bumgarner and husband Jerry Lee of Lenoir; two uncles, Marvin Hollar and wife Marion of Florida, O.D. Hollar and wife Gail of Charlotte; special nephew, Mikeal Douglas Coffey and wife Barbara of Blowing Rock and his dog and best friend, "Axle". A celebration of Jerry's life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Reverend John Gray officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
