Jerry Eugene "Jaybird" Pittman, 74, of Stuart, Fla., passed away on October 16, 2025, at St. Port Lucie Hospital. He was known for his big heart, quick wit, and the love he showed to everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Goldie Slick Pittman; brothers, Junior, Jim, and Leonard Pittman; and sisters, Maxine Poovey and Agnes Bowman.
Survivors include his son, Chad Pittman; daughter, Christie Medlin; bonus daughter, Gina Lail; fiancée, Vicki Schmidt; sister, Mae Wall; grandchildren, Trever, Trey, Ashlie, and Peyton; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Cassidy, and Bailee.
Receiving will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., with the funeral at 2 p.m. at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Deal will officiate the service.

I have to say he was one tough guy. I knew Jerry as his bartender n poker playing buddy. He was quite the character. He acted big n bad but inside he had a great big heart. To Vicki who I never got to meet Thank you. You did so much for Jerry and I know Thank You is not enough. I hope to meet you one day to thank you in person. Jerry was SO THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU IN HIS LIFE AND IF HE NEVER TOLD JUST HOW GRATEFUL HE WAS BELIEVE ME HE TOLD EVERYBODY ELSE. He will definitely be missed and never forgotten. If there´s poker in heaven I guarantee he´s at the head of the table. To the family I send my condolences but to know he´s not suffering anymore is a blessing we can all be thankful for! Rest in peace my friend!
