Jessie Kiser Houston, 76, of Hickory, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at her residence.
She was born May 4, 1944, in Cleveland County, to the late Clyde and Beda Rudisill Kiser. Jessie was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Hickory and retired from the hosiery industry. She enjoyed fishing, going to the cabin, watching wrestling, crafting, and visits from family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Vernon Gary Houston; grandson, Colton Lidey; sister, Wanda Hoyle; son-in-law, Mark Locklear; and sister-in-law, Becky Kiser.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Kevin Houston and Lisa Anderson of Hickory; daughters, Lynette Locklear and Wayne Nichols of Hickory, Jeanette Lidey and Mike Abee of Vale; brothers, Vernon Kiser of Hickory, Randy Kiser and wife, Twanna, of Hickory, Ken Kiser and wife, Anita, of Hickory, Dale Kiser of Vale; Marvin Kiser and wife, Yvonne, of Hickory; sisters, Retha Seter of Hickory, Kathy Tomblin and husband, James, of Hickory, Sue Davis and husband, Bill, of Hickory, Rebecca Wilfong and husband, Dusty, of Vale, Shirley Smith and husband, Calvin, of Hickory, Vicky Jarrett and husband, Kenny, of Newton; brother-in-law, Lenoir Houston of Hildebran; sister-in-law, Christine Hoyle of Icard; grandchildren, Matthew Houston, Mindy Pearson and husband, Brent, Jordan Houston, Grace Houston, Kelsey Allman and husband, Jimmy, and Nolan Locklear; and great-grandchildren, Brad Gadell, Jayce Allman, Caroline Pearson, Hannah Pearson, Tabby Pearson, Benjamin Pearson, and Malachi Pearson.
A service to celebrate Jessie's life will be held Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m., at Providence Baptist Church in Hickory. The Revs. Chris Dale and Ernie Richards will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., at Providence Baptist Church, prior to the service. Those serving as pallbearers are Matthew Houston, Jordan Houston, Nolan Locklear, Jimmy Allman, Russell Hoyle, and Hayden Enloe.

i´m so sorry for the loss of both ! i seen them in home health always loved coming to see them . both were sweet caring and funny people . thanks for letting me be her HH nurse and you always. have those patients and families that touch your lives in nursing and they did mine ! such kinds people ! Prayer for you family ! So glad they are together again !!
