April 7, 1940 - July 9, 2024

Jimmy Carroll Travis, 84, of Hickory, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 7, 1940 in Caldwell County to the late Garland Oscar Travis and Mae Elizabeth Wright Travis. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith and a United States Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons; Jimmy Carroll Travis Jr. and Michael Lee Travis; and his sisters, Sue Bowman, Noreen Martin, and Peggy Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife of 67 years, Faye Sigmon Travis, of the home; son, Ricky A. Travis and wife Tiffany, of Michigan; daughters; Kathy A. Gordon, of Grovetown, GA, Linda C. Caldwell and husband Scott, of Newton; sister, Brenda Clark, of Hudson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service to celebrate Jimmy's life was held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Catawba Memorial Park. Rev. Tommy Young officiated.
