Judith Kilby

1943 - 2025

Judith A Kilby, 82, of Herndon VA, formerly of Conover, NC, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025.

Judy was born in LaPlata, MD to the late Richard and Marjorie Tyrrell on February 20,1943. She was raised in Woodbridge, VA and graduated in 1961 from Gar-Field High School. She married David Kilby on November 10,1961 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Woodbridge, VA. She worked, devoted and retired as an Administrative Assistant for Department of the Army, Corps Of Engineers. She was so many wonderful things to so many people and was so kind with a quick smile to everyone she met. Her favorite role however, was being a Grandma and Great Grandma, better known as G'ma.

Judy found joy in her family, friends, traveling, bird watching/feeding, cooking, reading, puzzles, bingo, and ceramics.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lawrence, and son in law Rick.

Judy is survived by as the beloved wife of 64 years, David Kilby, her son, Richard (Butch) Kilby (Beatrice), daughter, Susan Hylton, four grandchildren; Cassie (Daniel), Kari (Jermaine), Christopher (Haven), Jacob (Dana), 11 great grandchildren; Nolan, Aubrey, Allyson, Nathan, Kameron, Jordon, Jaxon, Cora, Colin, Ira, and Jonah, as well as many other special family and friends.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. The family of Judy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the community of BrightView Dulles Corner, as well as doctors, nurses, and staff at Fair Oaks Hospital.
