Judy Stafford

On Friday, July 16, 2021, Judith Pearson Stafford, 77, wife of Max William Stafford of Honea Path, S.C., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Born in Lenoir, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Nellie Marie Huntley Pearson. She was a member of Barker's Creek Baptist Church. Judith, lovingly known as "Judy" never knew a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a devoted homemaker. She loved children and spent many years caring for children in her community. Judy was a faithful member of Tri-City Baptist Church in Newton-Conover, before moving to Honea Path, S.C.

In addition to her husband of the home, Mrs. Stafford is survived by two daughters, Robin Stafford Souther (Alvin) of Lake Wales, Fla., and Ann Stafford Taylor (the Rev. Wesley) of Belton; one sister, Peggy Riggs of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Kyler Preece, Bradley Souther, Tosha Souther, Aaron Taylor and Max Taylor; and seven great-grandchildren, Adaline Marie Preece, Brianna Preece, Willow Preece, Dakota Preece, Baya Souther, Gavin Souther, Averi Souther.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Walsh.

The funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 18, at Barker's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home, and will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m., at Barkers Creek Baptist Church, prior to the service.
