Kathleen "K.K." Yoder Weaver, 91, of Hickory, passed away peacefully at her residence Friday, Oct. 15, 2021.
Born in Catawba County May 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Effie Kiser Yoder.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Willie" Bradford Weaver; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Sweet; brothers, Jay Yoder and wife, Viola and Harold Yoder and wife, Ann; infant brother, Ray Yoder; and sister, Rachel Elliott and husband, Bob.
Her last employer was Piedmont Design and Hickory Furniture Mart as an office receptionist.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Hefner (Carson) of Hickory and Lori Sweet (Teddy) of Conover; son, Ronnie Weaver; granddaughters, Stacy Kijesky (Rean) of Maiden, and Hallie Barnett (Andrew) of Troutman; grandsons, Jamie Sweet (Ashley) of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Derrick Sweet (Kelly) of Newton; great-granddaughters, Katelyn Sweet of Silverdale, Wash., Parker Sweet of Newton, Grace Sweet and Aspen Sweet both of Fountain Inn, S.C., Isla Kijesky of Maiden, and Hayden Barnett of Troutman; great-grandsons, Austin Sweet of Fountain Inn, S.C., Luke Kijesky, of Maiden, Adam Kijesky of Maiden, and Ryan Barnett of Troutman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to caregivers, Peggy Leatherman, Barbara Chambers, Ruby Auton, Shelby Jean Carpenter and Judy Owensby.
Kathleen will lie in state Monday, Oct. 18, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Hickory Funeral Home. Family may or may not be present.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m., at Sardis Lutheran Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Adrienne Martin officiating. Burial in the church cemetery will follow.

Kat and Bill were friends of my parents. I remember them very well. They were like my 2nd mom and dad when I was small. I hadn't seen them in a while but I loved them so much. Saying prayers for your family. May God hold you in his arms now and as you pass through your time of sorrow. This world is a sadder place without Kat. She will be missed.
