Kenneth Bowman

Kenneth Bowman HICKORY Kenneth David Bowman, husband of the late Frankie Hathcock Bowman, father of Alan Bowman and Renay Bowman Reep, passed away Tuesday June 25, 2013. Kenneth was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Burke County, to Carl and Armeta Brindell Bowman. He was 84 years old. Kenneth served in the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic for B-29's. He retired from Bumgarner Pontiac as Parts manager. He was an assistant Boy Scout leader for Troop 345 at Royal Chapel Church of God, where he was also a member. In addition to his parents and his wife of 60 years, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Bowman, Reggie Bowman and Gary Bowman. In addition to his children, Kenneth is survived by Teresa Cansler Bowman (daughter-in-law); Michael Bryan Hord (son-in-law); brother, Keith "Bud" Bowman and wife, Imadean. Kenneth was especially proud of his grandchildren, Jon Reep, Nic Reep, Ben and Kelsey Reep, Courtney and Mitchell Bowman and Bryan and Brandon Hord. Kenneth greatly enjoyed his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Marilyn and Anson Reep. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at Royal Chapel Church of God.
