Marlon Touchberry Obituary

CLAREMONT - Marlon Newell Touchberry, 46, of Anderson Street, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his residence. Born Dec. 2, 1960, in Sumter, S.C., he was the son of James Mobley Touchberry of Columbia, S.C., and the late Shelby Jean Burr Touchberry. In addition to his father, survivors include his wife of 17 years, Sybil Ann Blanton Touchberry of the home; two daughters, Lisa Touchberry and Lauren Touchberry of Florida; two stepdaughters, Cherie Lynn Smith of the home and Tina Marie Cook of Taylorsville; two stepsons, Marcus Anthony Cook of the home and Michael Dwayne Rippy of Claremont; a sister, Tamelia Elizabeth Wagner of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Dr. Crys Armbrust of Tryon and Bryant Siegfried Touchberry of Columbia, S.C.; a number of grandchildren; a niece, Kimberly Jean Burnette of Lawrence County, S.C.; and two nephews, Stephen John Burnette of Lawrence County, S.C., and John Paul Burnette of Greenville County, S.C. A brother, Kenny Touchberry, preceded him in death. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in Startown-Jenkins Cemetery, with Pastor Scott Bollinger officiating. Pallbearers will be Garland Hartsoe II, Howard Cannon, Casey Bedford, Stephen Burnette, John Burnette and Michael Rippy. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home. You may express your thoughts and memories in the online guest book at www.jenkinsfuneralservices.com. The Touchberry family has entrusted the arrangements to Jenkins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 4081 Startown Road, Newton.
