Minnie Kiser Obituary

VALDESE - Minnie Pearl Kiser, 82, of Dysartsville Road, Morganton, joined her loved ones peacefully Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Britthaven Nursing Center following a period of declining health. She was a lifelong resident of Dysartsville Road. She was the daughter of the late Jones Edmur Kiser and Lula Jane Deaton Kiser to whom she tenderly provided care in their last years. Aunt Pearl was a wonderful homemaker, and one of her greatest joys was tending her garden and beautiful flowers along with her best friend, sister and neighbor, Gazzie. Though Aunt Pearl never had children of her own, she was a mother to many. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious chocolate pie. She was loved and cherished by many nieces and nephews who brought her much joy. She is survived by her sister, Gazzie Johnson of Morganton. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Patton and Jennie Hudson; and brothers, Charles "Bee," Carmie and Wes. The family deeply appreciates the tender care given to her by Burke Hospice and Palliative Care and by the staff of Britthaven. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Revs. April Abernethy and Jack Moses offficiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3 p.m., one hour prior to the service at Bethel United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church c/o Cemetery Fund, 5011 Dysartsville Road, Morganton, N.C. 28655.
