January 28, 1957 - August 18, 2021
Monty Wayne Spry, 64, of Newton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.
Born Jan. 28, 1957, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Charles and Lena Champion Spry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a step-grandchild, Kelly Canipe; and two brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Anita Reinhardt Spry of the home; son, David W. Spry of Maiden; daughter, April M. Justice of Maiden; four stepdaughters, Kristy Harbour and husband, Jeff, of Ohio, Talitha Null and husband, Mike, of Newton, Dana Huffman and David Webb of Maiden, Malorie Huffman of Newton; two sisters, Kristy Swink and husband, Calvin, of Connelly Springs, Phyllis James and husband, Bruce, of Mocksville; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and special friends, Joann Banis and Gary and Pat Lawrence.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 23, at 1 p.m., at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden with Chaplain John Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
