Norma Jean Worley, 54, of U.S. Hwy. 70 E, Hildebran, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 18, 1967, in Buncombe County, to Joyce Banks Smith and the late Lewis A. Whitted. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Jessie Gibson. Ms. Worley was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her boyfriend, Steve Icard of the home; son, Kenneth Worley Jr.; two daughters, Brooke Gibson and fiancé, Mark King, and Nikki Worley, all of Hickory; three brothers, J.R. Hughes and wife, Debbie, of Morganton, Randall Hughes and wife, Kathy, of Greenville, S.C., and Norman Whitted and wife, Libby, of Weaverville; four and ½ grandchildren, Bryon Worley, Isaiah Icard, Jaxton King, Ryder King and one in the oven; seven nieces and nephews, Hannah Hughes, Randall Hughes Jr., Mathew Hughes, Kristina Whitted, Cody Whitted, Heath Whitted and Heather Whitted; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to any local addiction program.
