Owen Morgan George Himes

February 24, 2020 - June 25, 2024

Owen Himes, 4, of Lincolnton, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at his residence.

He was born February 24, 2020 in Catawba County to James and Amber McGonagle Himes of Lincolnton. To know Owen was to love him. He had the biggest heart and remained so strong throughout his cancer treatment. He loved the beach, fire trucks, Jeeps and motorcycles. Owen had the best smile and enjoyed drawing, coloring, playing with his stuffed animals, and his fur-baby, Cotton. He loved his brothers (they kept him going), and eating doughnuts. Owen was everyone's hero and warrior.

He was preceded in death by Mareva Karas (Oma), Darrin Hollar, Morgan McGlothlin, Edith Marie French, Teresa Hauenstein, and Donald Hauenstein.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father and mother, James and Amber McGonagle Himes of the home; Brothers, Jameson, Wesley, and Wyatt Himes of the home; grandparents, David McGonagle of Newton, Tracy McGonagle of Lincolnton, James Wesley Himes Sr. of Muncie, IN, Douglas Ott (Opa and Red) of Lincolnton; great-grandparents, George and Carol McGonagle of Bluefield, WV, John and Susie Himes of Muncie, IN, Gary and Norma Coffey of Muncie, IN, Mary McGlothlin of Bluefield, WV, Patricia McArthur of Carrolton, OH; aunts and uncles, Patrick and Angel McKinney of Denver, Terra Cale of Maiden, Austin and Ashley McGonagle of Conover, John and Kirstie Seagle of Bessemer City; great-aunts and great-uncles, Carla Hollar of Claremont, George and Tammy McGonagle of Mebane, Dwyane and Donelle Kiser of Midland, Keith and Marybeth McGlothlin of Bluefield, Mark McGlothlin of Bluefield; cousins, Serenity, Brayleigh, Kenzleigh, Jacob, Mattis, Kaydyn, Lucas, Blayke, Coltyn, Landon, Graham, Tyler (Lindsey), Kaitlyn, and Conner; best Friend, Chad Carswell (Maigan and Ava).

The family wishes to thank everyone who helped with Owen's care and treatment, and everyone who loved and believed in him. They ask that you help them carry on his memory.

A service to celebrate Owen's life was held on Friday, June 28, 2024 in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service. Pastor Raymond Johns officiated. The family received friends prior to the service at Bennett Funeral Service.
