Paulette Moss Obituary
February 12, 1945 - January 28, 2023
Paulette Guthrie Moss, 77, of Newton, gained her wings and went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 12, 1945, in Catawba County, to the late John and Margaret Sims Guthrie.
Paulette was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Newton. She retired from Catawba County Schools, where she taught and touched many young lives at Bandys High School, Tuttle Middle School and Mill Creek Middle School. She had a passion for painting, planting, and capturing memories with her grandkids through pictures and attending events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Sawyer Moss.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Ken Moss of the home; son, Garrett Moss and wife, Tonya, of Maiden; daughter, Tara Williams and husband, Aaron, of Maiden; brothers, Scott and Kathy Guthrie of Raleigh, Rick and Tori Guthrie of Atlanta, Ga.; and grandchildren, Kenzie Williams, Carly Williams, and Seth Moss.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Paulette's life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy. 16 in Newton.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
