Phelifa Michelle Bowman Marlow

March 4, 1969 - January 13, 2021

Mrs. Phelifa Michelle Bowman Marlow, 51, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021.

Michelle was born March 4, 1969, in Caldwell County to Terry Bowman and the late Etta Marley Hildebran. She was a member of Marketplace Church in Hickory and was employed as an upholsterer in the furniture industry.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pauline and Cromer Bowman.

Survivors include her husband, Justin Marlow; daughters, Makayla Marlow and Tosha Marlow; grandchildren, Kaylynn Pickard and Trevor Pickard; father, Terry Bowman and wife, Teressia; stepfather, Dickie Hildebran; brother, Steve Hildebran and wife, Donna; sister, Christina Hildebran Walker and husband, Jason; best friends, Dana Riordan and Myra Williamson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, with the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Brookford Cemetery in Mountain View. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, prior to the service.

I don´t think we saw each other after elementary school but I never forgot those cute dimples and beautiful smile and the long blonde hair. We didn´t get to know each other well but she always seemed smart and so nice. So sad that such a nice girl is gone.

Dear Family of Michelle,
We want to express our deepest sympathy for your loss. Michelle was a wonderful caring person. She believed in hard work and planning for the future. We have been preparing her tax returns before I even bought the tax business. I so looked forward to seeing her every year to catch up on what had been happening in our lives. She was like talking to one of my sisters. We shared a lot of life's ups and downs in our lives. I pray that God provides you comfort and peace in knowing that Michelle loved God and believed that there was a better life waiting for her in Heaven! May you always cherish the time you had with her here and plan on a future together forever after this journey is over.
