Ricky Lomax HICKORY Ricky "Ric" Dean Lomax, 54, of Hickory, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his residence. Born Feb. 4, 1958, he was the son of the late Spencer Allen Lomax and Thelma Sue Scercy Lomax. Ric was a volunteer track coach at Maiden and Fred T. Foard High Schools. He mentored many young athletes to the state level. A devoted and loving husband and father, he was active in the Mountain View community. He was the owner and operator of Mountain View BBQ. His wife of 27 years, Lisa Powell Lomax, of the home; a daughter, Anastasia Lomax Rug-gles and husband, Andrew, of Greensboro; two sons, Alex Lomax and Aram Lomax, both of the home; a sister, Valerie Lomax Gallaway, of China Grove; two brothers, Spencer Lomax and wife, Deborah, of Mooresville and Lynn Lomax and wife, Daphne, of Moores-ville, survive him. The memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with his father-in-law, the Rev. Marion Powell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ric Lomax Memorial Fund, 2590 Ralph L. Rd., Hickory, NC 28602.
