Shelton Foye Baker

January 11, 1937 - September 30, 2025

Shelton Foye Baker, 88, of Hickory passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at his residence.

Born January 11, 1937 in Spartanburg, S.C., he was the son of the late Foye Leon Baker and Lucille Pearson Baker. In addition to his parents, Shelton was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Baker Lawson and Joyce Baker Goforth Kilpatrick.

Shelton was a technical engineer who worked for Eglin Airforce Base, IBM, DPA, SORBUS, and COMSCOPE.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jane Fowler Baker, of the home; and two sons, Keith Shelton Baker (Keely) of Conover, N.C., and Michael Brady Baker (Sandi) of Blacksburg, Va.

A celebration of Shelton's life will held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. John's United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, 799 Bethesda Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
