Thomas Huffman Obituary

Thomas Huffman RALEIGH, N.C. Thomas (Tom) Franklin Huffman passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in Raleigh, N.C. Tom was born in Hickory, April 23, 1927. He graduated from Hickory High School and Clevenger College of Business Administration. Tom spent seven years in the United States Navy. He retired from General Electric, Hickory, after a thirty year career and was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. Tom is survived by his son, Larry Huffman, and wife, Maricel; and their two sons, Andrew and Ryan, all living in Raleigh, N.C.; three granddaughters, Amy Huffman, of Los Angeles, Calif., Stacey Huffman, of Raleigh, and Allie Pilarczyk, and husband, Dennis; and their daughter, Lily, all of Raleigh. While Tom was a long time resident of Hickory, he had spent the past six years living with his son, primarily in Raleigh, but also two years in the Philippines. Tom was a great father and grandfather. He was a wonderful storyteller and a friend to many people. Tom lived life to the fullest. He will be missed. There will be no funeral service, consistent with Tom's wishes, however, the family will celebrate his life, retell his funny stories, and share many wonderful memories of Tom on his birth date, April 23, next year.

Tom and I went thru school together and we volunteered for the Navy early 1945. We met again on the Island of Okinawa. I lost tract of Tom about six years ago. Sorry to hear of the passing of a long time friend.
