August 17, 1944 - August 25, 2023
Trilby McAlister Stockner, 79, of Newton, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
She was born August 17, 1944 in Iredell County to the late John Lewis McAlister and Lola Mae Drum McAlister. Trilby was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton and a 1962 graduate of Bandys High School. She was employed with the Catawba County Clerk of Court from 1970-1988, and retired as an internal auditor for CVCC. Trilby loved spending time with her granddog, Jake, who misses her very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Dean McAlister and Terry McAlister; and sisters, Hayesalene Killian, Betty Cruse, and Wanda Richardson.
Those left to cherish her memory are; husband of 49 years: Jim Stockner of the home; daughter: Scottie White of Conover; sister-in-law: Patty Stockner of Advance; seven nieces and six nephews.
A service to celebrate Trilby's life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Newton. Rev. Josh Sherfey will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the Welcome Center. Those serving as pallbearers are Brian Benton, Joe Cox, Collin Delp, Dr. Aron Gabriel, Terry Holmes, Lee Kye, Gary Lowe, and Winford Tucker.
