Professor Mauney was such a kind and bright man. He was my ecomonics professor and took his time to help me understand it. I was blessed to have been his student. Mrs. Mauney, I pray that our Lord will bless you with peace and His everlasting love.

Professor Mauney was one of my first professors at L-R. He taught me to not be intimidated by something just because I didn't understand it. At the time he was referring to economics, but those words have proven to be one of the most valuable lessons I've ever been taught. L-R has been lucky to have Professor Mauney, and I have been lucky to know him as a professor, a colleague, and a friend. He was a great man and will be truly missed.

Professor Mauney was my economics professor my first year at LR as a transfer student. He gave me great encouragement in not giving up on his class. Because of his concern and care of my success in his class I was able to not only pass his course but I understand a lot of things about the economic now that I would not have if it were not for his genuine concern for my educational journey through his course. He will be missed. My prayers go out up for his family.

As my first year at LR began, one of my very first classes was Professor Mauney's MacroEconomics. I remember seeing the love he had for teaching and seeing us progress into our college careers. His support and guidance was led to great achievements. This year I was apart of LR's Fed Challenge Team, and through his support and determination in us to do well, gave us the same determination to do our best. His assistance will be greatly missed but his all of us Economics majors and minors know his spirit will always be here to support LR.

Professor Mauney was by far one of the greatest personalities on the LR Campus, always cheerful and ready to assist with advice. Taught me to love economics and pursue it as a major. For all his help I will be always grateful! He will be missed..

Professor Mauney was my teacher freshman year and he took me on is study abroad trip that same year. He was a wonderfully great man who would always take his time and let you ask him questions and just talk to him. He was one of the reasons why I stayed at LR instead of transferring. I will miss him very much.

Professor Mauney was one of my favorite professors at L-R. I also worked as a student assistant for him and will never forget all of his kindnesses to me. He taught me about economics and wine both!

Lorraine and I are so sorry to hear of Billy's death. I remember fondly the many hours I spent with Billy fishing at Clark's pond and working at the Boulevard Drive-In in the snack bar. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Elaine.

We are extremely saddened to hear of Bill's death. My Mother thought the world of "Billy" as she referred to him. I remember him as a bright, lovely young man I could look up to in the St. James Lutheran Church family. He will be missed.

In my time as president of Lenoir-Rhyne I worked closely with Bill who was one of the most respected faculty leaders. He was always thoughtful, ethical, kind, open and wise; and he was ever concerned about what choices would bring the most good to everyone. He leaves an important legacy to the school, his colleagues, and generations of students to whom he gave his best. Carol and I send our sympathy and prayers to Elaine and the family.
