Janet Simmons Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Janet Simmons, who entered her forever home with Jesus on Aug. 31, 2025.
Janet married her sweetheart, Marion, in 1951 and had a happy marriage (lasting for almost 64 years). Shortly after, she welcomed four children: Linda, Darrel, Ardie and Duane. She always made her family a priority. She loved homemaking, being a wife and mother.
With the children off to school, she began driving a school bus for Morongo Unified School District, a career that lasted for many years in which she soon was training other new drivers.
She later switched careers, becoming the office manager for the 29 Palms Cemetery, where she retired after 25 years, leaving such detailed notes that they are still a reference for those who followed.
Janet's presence was a constant source of comfort, her wisdom a guiding light and her love unwavering. She will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses (Suzie, Bill and Reina), the grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many faithful friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel in Yucca Valley. We welcome all who want to celebrate Janet's life with us.

Earlier today

I have a happy memory of spending Easter weekend at the Simmons home in 29 Palms in the early 70´s. What lovely, warm hospitality Janet provided.
My sympathies to all who loved her. May God´s great comfort be very real to you as you grieve and celebrate her.

Yesterday

Janet was pure joy to know and will be so missed. It was an honor to get to know her and faith in the Lord was so inspirational.
