Mark Lundquist Obituary

Mark F. Lundquist, 79, longtime resident of Joshua Tree, passed away on Nov. 20, 2025.
Mark was born on Sept. 15, 1946, to Robert and Jane Lundquist of Hopkins, Minnesota. They moved to California in the early 1950s. He graduated from San Marino High School in 1964.
After graduating, Mark enlisted in the Navy and served in the Vietnam War.
Mark fell in love with cars at an early age. He was a mechanic by trade and continued his love of the car industry as a manager and an administrator. He was an avid Chevy classic car enthusiast and kept his own cars running smoothly in his own shop and garage.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Lyon Lundquist, with whom he shared 24 years of love, laughter and travel.
He is survived by his youngest sister, Elizabeth Lundquist Hamilton, her husband, Doug, and their daughter, Lea.
He was previously married to Patricia Reid with whom he shared Jennifer and Brian. He later married Patricia June, who preceded him in death and with whom he shared Melissa and stepson Matthew. Mark was a grandfather to five grandchildren: Benjamin, Meghan, Rex, Erik and Layla.
He will be greatly loved and missed by his family and lifetime friends.
Services will be held at a later date.

Mark was my Board President at Morongo Basin Behavioral Health when we were in Joshua Tree and relocated into the old nursing home building in Yucca. He was the best board president I´ve ever had, both past and present. He will surely be missed. RIP Mark
