Jessica Simon, age 43, of Bertram, Texas passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024.



Jessica was born on July 26, 1981, to Archie and Peggy Simon of Bertram, Texas. She attended Marble Falls High School, followed by Austin Community College and the University of Phoenix.



Upon graduating, Jessica began a long and distinguished career working for the Texas Department of Public Safety. She was a favorite among her colleagues. They joke that Jessica could summon a "fierce and spicy" attitude, when necessary, but her warmth and generosity suffused the workplace, making her a beloved figure among her peers. Her dedication to public service was matched only by her compassion for others, often going above and beyond to support her colleagues. Jessica's infectious spirit and unwavering commitment left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her legacy of kindness and professionalism will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.



Eventually Jessica decided to begin a fresh chapter in her life and embarked on a new career as an entrepreneur. Her enterprising spirit and love of people led her to create an online travel agency, whose mission was to design luxury and adventure vacations. Eventually, these same passions inspired Jessica to join a global beauty and wellness company, where she devoted her days to empowering women to achieve lives of professional independence.



Jessica's wide circle of friends all tell a similar story of someone who set aside her own struggles and health issues to uplift those around her. She was the friend they turned to when they needed a listening ear or a comforting presence, always ready to offer support and understanding without hesitation. Her selflessness created a safe space for others, where vulnerability was met with compassion and genuine care.



Like her mother, Peggy, Jessica was known for her salty and rollicking sense of humor. Indeed, a friend who endured health issues similar to Jessica's looked back fondly on their time laughing and recuperating together, sharing inappropriate gastrointestinal jokes that--she says--are "not fit to print."

Jessica inherited more from her mother than her sense of humor. She also embraced her talent as a chef, her passion for hosting friends and family, and her deep love of life. Jessica and Peggy shared a truly unique bond that transcended the typical mother-daughter relationship. They were confidants and best friends, sharing secrets, dreams, and countless memories. This relationship helped shape Jessica into the daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend that we all cherish.

Jessica had a passion for animals, especially her labradors. Her beautiful face would inevitably shine as she would keep her friends updated about their shared escapades.

Jessica was preceded in death by her loving father, Archie Simon, her maternal grandparents, Lois Shell ("Nanny") and Fred Shell and paternal Grandparents Hazel and Ervin Ewald. She is survived by her mother, Peggy Simon, her brother, David Brune, her uncle Eddie Shell, aunt Dale Shell, cousins Eddie, II, Austin, Alex, and Morgan Shell, Toby, Brandi, Dusti, and Dawn Shell. Toby's wife, Kim, and numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles.



A memorial for Jessica will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Burnet, TX. A reception to follow will occur at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home.

The family has ask that memorial contribution be made in Jessica's name to the Hill Country Humane Society at 9150 RR 1431 RM, Buchanan Dam, Texas 78609.
