Leon Sharp Obituary
HILLSDALE - Leon Sharp of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Drew's Country Living in Hillsdale. He was born on August 23, 1931 in Camden, Michigan to Willard and Ethel (Moore) Sharp.
He is survived by two sons, Steve (Linda) Sharp and Tom (Kay) Sharp; two grandchildren, Jason Sharp and Brian (Jennifer) Sharp; two step-grandchildren, John Ross and Erin McNamara; several great and step-great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Sharp.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; two children, David and Michael Sharp; and seven siblings.
Leon served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his animals. He also retired from the City of Hillsdale Street Department after 43 years.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Spangler officiating. Interment will follow at the Bankers Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Southern Care Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
