Sharon L. Davis

1939 - 2017

Sharon L. Davis, 77, of Angola and formerly of Waldron, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. She was born June 14, 1939 in Hillsdale to Mark and Mary (Lamb) Earl. She married Richard Davis on June 23, 1959 and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2011.

Sharon was a graduate of Pittsford High School in 1957. She went on to attend International Business College in Fort Wayne and also Riggs Beauty School in Hillsdale. She opened a beauty salon in Waldron which she operated for 24 years. Sharon was active in band boosters, athletic boosters, and started a Girl Scouts Troop. She served as Wright Township Treasurer for 12 years and Postmaster relief for four years before moving to Hamilton, IN. Sharon earned her real estate license in 1988 and officially retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 2001. She moved to Angola in 2003 and was a member of the Angola Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, American Legion and Hillsdale Eastern Stars. Sharon loved bowling, snowmobiling in northern Michigan, playing cards with friends, attending nascar races, and spending her winters in Florida. She attended Pittsford Congregational Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Alissa (Dana) Driver of Montpelier and Cara (Buffalo) Hill of Manchester, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Jermeay, Sloan Lashaway and Jacob Driver; great-grandson, Aiden Tucker; and sister, Sheryl (Harry) Burke of Osseo.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard.

Funeral services for Sharon Davis will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pittsford Congregational Church with Pastor Terry Bobzien officiating. Interment will follow at Leonardson Cemetery in Pittsford. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
