De Perry Obituary

PRESTON, Idaho - De Ralph Perry passed away on April, 23 2010, at the age of 89.
He was born on July 1, 1920, in Preston, Idaho, to Ralph and Ruth Perry. He was the fourth of eight children. De grew up splitting his time between the family's home in Preston and helping run the family farm in Treasureton. He enjoyed participating in all school activities and loved sports; he played three years on the basketball team and was elected student body president his senior year. He met the love of his life in high school, Eunice Dunkley, and they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 6, 1939. They were blessed with five children.
After high school De attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. He then went on to work for the Grey Hound Bus lines in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was later transferred to Las Vegas, Nev., where they lived for two years. In April 1944 De was called to serve in the Army. When he came home from the war they lived in Ogden, Utah, for a short time. In 1944 De's father split his farm between Le Roy and De Ralph. De and Eunice moved to Treasureton and remodeled the Conlin home and he went back to his passion, farming.
During the 35 years they spent on the farm, De Ralph served as bishop for six years in the Treasureton ward. At this time a new church was built. It was completed in 1952 and dedicated by Spencer W. Kimball in 1953. He served two terms on the Preston school board as treasurer and several years on the soil conservation committee.
De Ralph was preceded in death by his sweetheart Eunice; sisters, Mary and Eunice; and two brothers, Warren and Le Roy.
He is survived by all five of his children, Dee Anne (Vern) Scott of Stillwater, Okla.; Richard (Dee Ann) Perry of Spokane, Wash.; Reed (Wendy) Perry of Anchorage, Alaska; Brent (Christine) Perry of Treasureton, Idaho; Eddy (Sheri) Perry of Treasureton, Idaho; and many, many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are going to miss him dearly. He is also survived by two brothers, Lynn and Glen (Joyce) Perry; and a sister, Leone. He set a very high standard for us all to live by.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 S. 800 East, with Bishop Michael Andrus conducting. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Webb Funeral Home and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David Beckstead for the kindness and good care he has shown throughout the years.

I loved coming to Uncle De and Aunt Unice's home in Treasuerton. It was a great place to play with the cousins. The toboggin' sledding in the winter was the best. Many good memories! Our thought are with you-Cousin Marcene
