DeVonna Rindlisbacher Bagley

1935 - 2026

DeVonna Udy Rindlisbacher Bagley passed away in North Logan, Utah on February 25, 2026, following complications of a stroke.

Family and friends gathered in November to celebrate her 90 wonderful years of life. In early February, we children and Mom gathered again to celebrate Dad's 100th birthday. Mom was a gracious host, with tables set and party favors placed. She was always kind, gracious, and served others.

DeVonna was born November 7, 1935, in Tremonton, Utah to Newell J and Hazel Loretta Allen Udy. She was the second of six children. Mom cherished her Box Elder County roots and deeply loved her Udy and Allen family heritage.

She spent most of her youth in Smithfield, Utah, and there attended elementary school and junior high school. She graduated from North Cache High School in 1954.

Mom was resilient. She was left a widow with a young child at the age of 19 when her first husband Dean Glade Bullen (1932-1955) died returning home from the Korean War. Soon thereafter, reacquaintance and romance with Dale Morgan Rindlisbacher (1926-1994) led to marriage and sealing in the Logan Temple on December 26, 1956. Within a year, as a 22-year-old, she had two children and was the wife of the Amalga Ward's newly sustained bishop. For the next six years, and three more sons later, she wrestled and wrangled those boys alone in the pew. With one of the pregnancies, she also lost and buried a stillborn twin son. Later, through the miracle of adoption, Conni was lovingly welcomed and the family was complete.

Mom and Dad spent 38 wonderful years together, until his early passing in 1994, leaving her as a relatively young widow, once again, at 58. Mom left the family home and moved to Providence in 1998. She loved her new home and neighbors. In 2001, she married Jay M. Bagley (1925-2019) and moved to the Dry Canyon community and spent 18 happy years with him. Mom provided loving and compassionate care for Jay in his declining years. At Jay's passing, she moved back to her home in Providence, reacquainting with her friends and neighbors there.

Mom lived life for her family. She cooked meals, washed clothes, bandaged wounds, wiped tears, and refereed boys' battles. She kept us on schedule to get our farm chores done, catch the school bus, do our homework, get to Primary, sit still for a family night lesson, earn a merit badge, practice the piano, or get to dance lessons. Two parents, five boys, and one girl. Eight of us. All within the loving confines of the modest four-bedroom home in Amalga with one bathroom.

Mom was resourceful. She taught us the law of the harvest. We may not have had all, but we had enough. Each fall, the basement fruit room was filled with bottled fruits and vegetables, from which we ate well, throughout the year. By including us, she taught that with work, there are rewards. So it was with life.

Mom worked at Summit School as a teacher's aide, volunteered with the PTA, and served throughout her life in many capacities in the church in Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society.

Children grew and left the nest and Mom moved to the new life phase of grandchildren. She was devoted to love, support and follow them in their life achievements of academics, sports, talents and hobbies. In this chapter, Mom and Dad also devoted themselves to service with a full-time mission to the California Sacramento Mission, followed by years of service in the Cache Family History Center.

The epilogue of Mom's life took her to Providence and Logan, where she served as Relief Society President in her late sixties and as a Cub Scout leader in her early seventies! She loved her association with friends and the children in Dry Canyon and Providence 4th Wards. Friends in Mom's Mountain View community were dear to her and vital to her joy in life and service. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a disciple of Jesus Christ, emulating so well His attributes of faith, hope, charity, compassion and love.

Extended family relationships are forever. Lois, MarJean and Mildred were true and loved sisters. Though separated in life from her sisters Darlene and JoAnn, she cherished gathering with her living siblings Tom, Calvin and Dorothy.

DeVonna is survived by her children: Rod (Danni), Alan (Tammy), Lori (daughter-in-law), Don, Bart (Sandi), Conni (Jerry). Twenty-seven grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her eternal husband Dale M. Rindlisbacher, son Kelly Jon Rindlisbacher and stillborn son Ronald Mark.

Mom never stopped being our mom, grandma and great grandma to her final days. She did not miss recognizing a birthday without a call or a text. We never left her home hungry. She was funny and loved to tease. And, somewhat naive, she was fun to tease, too! She was a friend to all. She lifted everyone she knew with genuine love and compassion. She was our sunshine. We will miss her love and steady hand.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Rindlisbacher Legacy in Education Endowment Scholarship Fund would be appreciated. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center in Logan. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Providence 4th Ward with a viewing held prior from 10:30 - 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Smithfield Cemetery.
