Edwin Benson Obituary
Eddie was born on November 8, 1961, to Janice and Dale Benson in Logan, Utah.
Eddie was a natural athlete from a young age, excelling in various sports, but basketball held a special place in his heart. He attended Sky View High School, where his talent and passion for basketball were admired by many. Despite his skill in multiple sports, Eddie chose to focus his efforts on basketball. He went on to attend Dixie State University followed by Southern Utah University, where he continued to excel on the basketball court.
After his education, Eddie began a lifelong career at Nucor Steel, where his hard work and dedication were evident to all who knew him.
On July 29, 1987, Eddie married Jamie Olsen. Together, they had three children: Dillan Benson, Lexi (James) Rohwer, and Abby (Gaje) Ferguson.
Eddie was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly cheering for his beloved Steelers. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and scenic drives, always up for a good burger at LD's!
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Janice and Dale Benson, and his older brother Shane. He is survived by his three children, three grandchildren (Ila, Walter, and Theron), his two brothers Lee (Kathy) Benson and Jeff (Charlene) Benson, his sister Sally (Clayton) Snow, as well as many cherished lifelong friends. We all will miss his contagious laugh and we look forward to that Mississippi river boat cruise with him one day.
A celebration of Eddie's life will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 11:30-12:30 at the Newton Church, 76 S 100 W, Newton, Utah followed by a burial at the Newton Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.

Sorry to hear of Eddie´s passing, he was a good friend. All the way from watching his 3 point shooting basketball at Skyview all the way to Nucor Steel later on. You will be missed great friend, I will always remember your hello´s. Rest easy my friend.
