JoAnn Humphreys

1964 - 2012

JoAnn Egbert Humphreys, 48, passed away July 28, 2012, at her home in Murray, Utah. JoAnn was born Jan. 21, 1964, to William Dean and Mary Lou Duce Egbert. She was the fourth of six children. She grew up in Hyrum and attended Lincoln Elementary and South Cache Junior High. She graduated from Sky View High School in 1982.
JoAnn worked in the accounting field at several different businesses in Cache Valley and Salt Lake City. After moving to Salt Lake, she would come home on weekends to help care for her parents.
She married Joseph William Humphreys Jr. on April 17, 1996. He brought to the marriage a daughter, Audrey Humphreys. On March 6, 1998, their daughter, Mary Jo, their pride and joy was born. For the last year and a half Joe and Mary Jo have dedicated their time to taking care of JoAnn after she suffered a stroke.
She is survived by her husband Joe; daughter Mary Jo of Murray; stepdaughter and granddaughter Audrey Humphreys and Zennica Przybyla of Grantsville; father- and mother-in-law Joe and Sophie Humphreys of Salt Lake City; brothers Russ (Angie) of Decatur, Ill., Gary (Maria) of North Logan, Brad (Stacey) of Layton and Mitch (Callie) of Hyrum; and sister Jackie Schenk (Jerry) of Hyrum. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
There will be a viewing for family and friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
