Kierra Shirley Spence

1995 - 2023

Kierra was born on April 10th, 1995, to loving parents, Gary and Corette Spence, as the youngest of their 5 children. She was also welcomed (and spoiled) by her much older siblings: Trevor (Lisa Spence), Derek (Jamie Spence), Devan (Alexis Spence), and Katie (Kaleb Evans). She grew up in Mendon, Utah and was a 2013 graduate of Mountain Crest High School.

She self-described her soul and aspirations in these words: "A chill vibes, hippie artist, surfer, cat lady". She was SO many other things to us as well, and we will deeply miss her physical presence. Kierra chose to leave this mortal existence on December 30th, 2023. She fought a heroic battle with a terminal mental illness, and out of her love and concern for us, she had stayed for as long as she possibly could.

Those who loved her included a large extended family and her surviving grandmother, Colleen Olsen Davis and her dearest cat companion, Izzy.

Grandparents that have previously passed on, Ivan and Shirley Spence and Clinton LaVel Davis, were there to embrace her into her next phase of life as she was welcomed into the arms of God. And Kierra is certainly rejoicing to again be reunited with her beloved dog Jay, and KittyKat, in a warm and beautiful place!

There will be a gathering to celebrate Kierra's life on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at the Mendon Stake Center, 460 S 100 E in Mendon, Utah. The family will be available there to visit from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. This will be followed at noon by a memorial to a life valiantly lived.

Kierra had a strong desire to be kind to people and animals. This is reflected in her desire to be an organ donor, and she would be so pleased if people chose to donate to any animal shelter.
