Linda Auman Obituary

LINDA KARREN AUMAN 72, former resident of Smithfield, passed away at her home in Fort Mohave, AZ on Sunday, June 12, 2022 following a lengthy battle with COPD.

Linda was born September 22, 1949 in Lewiston, UT to Thomas Garth & Betty Louise Beeton Karren. She is the younger sister of Thomas Garth Karren, Jr (Tom) and the older sister of Marsha Karren McMackin. Mom grew up in Lewiston, Preston, ID & Bancroft, ID before her family settled in Smithfield where she graduated from Sky View High School in 1967. She belonged to the first graduating class to attend Sky View all three years of high school.

She married Brent Francis Auman on January 16, 1971 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised two children, Natalie Marie & Shanon Jeffrey. Mom worked at the Smithfield Livestock Auction Cafe and Glauser's Restaurant. When Dad was going through POST she began working at Credit Service of Logan where she remained until opening EZ Tone Toning Salon in Logan. Then she made the decision to close the business and, lucky for us, be a stay at home grandma. Her grandchildren have fond memories of spending lots of time with grandma & grandpa. Because of her accepting, welcoming, and kind nature Mom made numerous long-time friends throughout her life. Our house was called "The LA Cafe" by many Officers who knew they could have dinner, dessert or a cup of coffee while they were 10-7 with Dad. After moving to Arizona she put 100's of thousands of miles on vehicles traveling to Cache Valley to support & help her family. Mom is Gramma Linda to several "baseball boys" and to the friends of her children & grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to attend baseball games, baby showers, birthday parties or weddings. She always supported family & friends in times of need or the death of a loved one, even in the past few months when her health really didn't allow it.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Brent Auman, Fort Mohave, AZ. Her children; Natalie (Mitch) Purser, Smithfield, UT & Shanon Auman, Fort Mohave, AZ. Her grandchildren & great grandchildren; Kylie (Jon) + Brooks O'Brien, Hayden Purser, Justice (McKaylee) + baby girl due in October Purser, Shawn (Em) Auman, Shailey (Taylor) + Bryson, June, & Cody Higginson. Her brother Tom Karren & her sister Marsha McMackin. Step-Mother; RaNae Karren, Brother & sister in laws; Linda (Bart) Kunz, Tamra (Marc) Hughes, Randy (Connie) Auman, Jacque Auman & Shawn Auman. She is also survived by 4 Aunts & 1 Uncle along with several cousins, nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Garth & Betty Karren, her in-laws; BJ & Marge Auman, sister-in-law; Sally Karren, brother-in-laws; Jerry McMackin & Barney Auman, and 4 Uncles.

Family & friendships were important to Mom and she was very good at making each of us feel special & loved. She was always there when you needed her & would reach out frequently to check on everyone, especially in times of need or trial. We will miss her beyond measure.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Cache Valley in July. The details of that event will be posted at a later date. How lucky we are to have something that makes saying good bye so hard.
