Lynn Covington Obituary

Ross Lynn Covington Jr., 62, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack Dec. 29, 2012, in Golden Valley, Ariz.
Lynn was born June 21, 1950, to Ross Lynn and Thelda Larsen Covington, in Logan, Utah.
Lynn loved driving old cars and trucks. He loved mountain-manning and participated in the Festival of the American West for many years. He loved snowmobiling and hiking. Lynn also had a soft spot for animals. He loved taking his grandson Austin to the shooting range, teaching him how to shoot and forming a bond with his only grandson.
Lynn was a gifted welder and mechanic and a jack of all trades.
He graduated from Logan High School. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard from 1968-1975. He married Cindy Lee Dustin on Nov. 21, 1974. Together they had two children, Coby and Jeremi. These two children were the lights of his life. He had four grandchildren, Austin Covington, 16, Sierra Covington, 14, Drew Broadhurst, 11, and Laikyn Broadhurst, 9.
He moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., in 1993 where he later owned Southwest Auto and Marine repair. This business kept him very busy.
Lynn was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother Thelda Covington Fife; children Coby (fiancé, Tanya Steele) Covington of Golden Valley, Ariz., and Jeremi (Preston) Broadhurst of Logan, Utah; and grandchildren Austin, Sierra, Drew and Laikyn; three sisters, Christine (Duffy) Dyer of Potomac, Md., Rachelle (Kenneth) Axtell of Midvale, Utah, and Diane (Bob) Romero of Placerville, Calif.; brother Kirk (Saskia) Covington of Cape Town, South Africa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Lynn Covington.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan, Utah. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.

I am saddened by the loss of Lynn. He and Kirk were always fun to be around, both as a kids in elementary school or later on through the years. I also remember him being a top flight mechanic. His family will miss him greatly, but can take solace in the good life reflected in his obituary. Lynn loved the right people and things in his life.
