Ray Robison Obituary

Ray Acea Robison, oldest son of Acea Homer Robison and Clara Ann Waite, was born 19 May 1956 in Logan, Utah. He had many adventures with his three sisters and seven brothers for there was always someone in their home to play games with, ride bikes, hike and go camping with. One of his favorite activities was to ride with his dad when his dad sold ice cream from a truck. They would travel into southern Idaho and make the rounds to loyal customers who loved his dad. Ray met many older people and continued a love for that generation that started with his grandparents.

Ray attended Woodruff Elementary, Logan Junior High and Logan High School. He played the clarinet in the marching band, was a sharpshooter in ROTC and ran track. He loved to ride his ten speed bike throughout Cache Valley and he spent many hours in Logan Canyon cutting firewood with his dad and brothers. In 1974 he graduated from Seminary and Logan High School.

After high school Ray served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was so good natured that he often had some of the "problem" elders as his companions. With his kind, gentle nature most of the time he was able to continue his missionary work with these companions to serve the Lord. His time in Pennsylvania was filled with many friends and growing experiences preparing him for a lifetime of service to others.

When Ray returned from his mission he started attending Institute activities on the Utah State University campus. There he was introduced to Kathy Hanson by his cousin. It must have been love at first sight because after 5 weeks of being constantly together Ray and Kathy got engaged. On 22 June 1978 they were sealed in the Manti, Utah temple and their marriage lasted 47 unforgettable years.

After marriage Ray went to work so Kathy could finish her degree at Utah State University. When the hoped for children did not come after 9 years, a wonderful, chosen son, Aaron, came to them through adoption. Three and 1/2 years later a beautiful daughter, Stacy, joined the family also through adoption.

Ray went to work for Campbell Scientific in 1984 as a machinist. He stayed there for 41 years until health issues caused him to retire. During these years he served on the Logan Planning Commission, Ellis Neighborhood Council, and many church callings including the Cache West Stake High Council and the Sunshine Terrace branch presidency. He spent many memorable hours hiking with Aaron on field trips, watching soccer games for both children, and attending orchestra concerts for Stacy.

He was a friend to many people in the neighborhood, always willing to make someone's life better. He loved being with his grandkids and wasn't above teasing a little now and then. Ray enjoyed looking in the sky for shooting stars, finding the constellations, and being outdoors. Older people adored him and he loved sharing stories with them. He stayed true to being a compassionate servant to his family, friends and his Savior.

Ray is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ann Hanson Robison, son, Aaron Ray Robison (Amy), daughter Stacy Ann Robison, granddaughter Brigid, grandson Bryker, sisters Arlene Johnson (Charles), Leila Robison, Carolyn Gonzales, brothers Lloyd Robison (Sandy), Darrell Robison (Lynn), Alan Robison (Kimberli), Grant (Michelle), Gary (Nancy), Paul (July), and Kyle Robison (Crystal). He has many nieces and nephews and many more great nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by many family members and friends.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 12 from 10-11:30 am followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. All services will be held at the Logan 3rd Ward Chapel on 600 N 100 W Logan, UT 84321.
