Stephen Kirschman Obituary
Stephen Charles Kirschman, 66, of Logan, Utah passed away on 20 November 2024 after a quick and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Steve was born on 20 August 1958 in Emmaus, Pennsylvania to Walter and Linda Kirschman. After growing up in Broadstairs, Kent, England, he moved back to the states with his family, eventually ending up in Logan where he graduated from Logan High School.
Steve met Kari Hale at Utah State University. They married and raised four children, Molly Jackson (Aaron), Adam (Hillary), Emily Petty (Russell), and Max (Ashley) in North Logan. Together they built a happy life with a home full of love. His legacy continues with his thirteen grandchildren who all adored their "Pa" (and the dollar store toys he would buy them).
Steve was a passionate, talented drummer in his teens and 20's and a fun-loving "idea man" later in adulthood. He could fix anything and liked solving problems with cars, appliances, and plumbing while talking about bigger ideas. He worked hard to provide for his family and leaves a legacy of happiness, empathy, curiosity and unconditional love. He was a wonderful father and his children always knew he loved them.
Steve was a gifted conversationalist with an insatiable curiosity. What he lacked in formal education he more than made up for with his love of learning and reading. He enjoyed connecting with other people and brought warmth into every room he was in.
He was happiest in nature discussing big ideas with family and friends. Steve loved to laugh and had an infectious (mostly) appropriate sense of humor. Later in life he gained a love for trail and distance running and completed several marathons.
He was well-known and loved by many including his three brothers, Bruce, Richard (Pamela), Michael (Angie), and two sisters Heather Limb (Greg), and Sarah Bennett (Joe), sister-in-law Julie Kirschman, and many nieces and nephews, and friends. Most especially he was a beloved Pa to his grandchildren: Evelyn, Sophia, Elliot, Henry, Wren, Sadie, Brynn, Nathan, Everly, Miles, Samuel, Walden, and Halle.
"All I am and all I ever will be is in my love that is manifested in my beautiful children and now grandchildren" - Steve
In his final years, Steve enjoyed a more simple and solitary life, living close to his beloved Logan Canyon and spending his days reading, dreaming, and connecting with his closest friends and family.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute for the kind care they provided to Steve in his final months.
Steve is missed and mourned by the people he loved. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Linda, and baby brother Clifford. In his honor, find a time to walk along a river in a canyon. His family will be holding a private memorial in the coming weeks.
