Wayne Earl Hansen, age 76, of Rock Springs, WY, died Jan. 31, 2016, of health complications in Rock Springs WY. He passed away quietly with his family and friends by his side. He was born July 22, 1939, in Paris, UT, to Levere and Ruth Hansen. He graduated from Richfield High school in Laketown, Utah. He was an Army veteran for the United States of America. He served proudly during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He married Marion Mildon on May 21, 1966, in Liberty, ID. She proceeded him in death Feb. 5, 1995. He married Yvonne Lamb on Aug. 17, 1996, near Bridger Lake in Utah. Wayne was employed by General Chemical for 25 years and a lifetime rancher on his family's ranch in Bear Lake, ID. Some of his favorite activities included dancing, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, camping, playing basketball, wrestling and spending time with his family. Wayne and Yvonne have traveled to dance in seven different states. Wayne and Marion started the AAU Wrestling Club in Mountain View, WY, where he served as president for many years. He loved to watch his son and grandchildren wrestle.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Lamb Hansen, of Rock Springs, WY; son, Jeff Hansen, of Mountain View, WY; daughter, Cathy Hinton, and husband, Dan Hinton, of Rock Springs, WY; son, Doug Hansen, of Vernal, UT; daughter, Linda Hansen, of Vernal, UT; stepson, Gale Lamb, and wife, Nella Rae Lamb, of McKinnon, WY; stepson, Alan Lamb, of Mountain View, WY; stepdaughter, Bonnie Mullins, and husband, Larry Mullins, of Green River, WY; stepdaughter, Yvette Nichols, and husband, Johnny Nichols, of Lyman, WY; sister in-law, Stella Hansen; and brother in-law, Mel Larson; 20 grandkids and 21 great-grandkids; nine nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by both his parents, Laveer and Ruth Hansen; his first wife, Marion Hansen; brother, Ron Hansen; and sister, Nadeen Hansen Larson.
Funeral services will be held at the Mountain View LDS Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. at the same church. He then will be placed to rest with Military Honors in the Garden City, UT, Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
