Bernice Welscott Obituary
Bernice was born to John and Mary Van Nieuwland on September 10, 1925. She graduated from Holland Christian High School, then worked clerical at Steketee Van Huis and Shoemaker Heating. Bernice was an active member of Ebenezer Reformed Church. She was a 4-H sewing leader for many years. Bernice was always interested in her grandkids' activities and whenever possible, attended their events where she was known to everyone as Grandma.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Welscott in 1993; her son, Gary Allen Welscott in 1980.
Bernice is survived by her children, Rev. Thomas (Mia) Welscott, Edwin (Sally) Welscott, Patricia Veenman; daughter-in-law, Deb (Derrick) Welscott-Curtis; grandchildren, James (Claudia) Welscott, Anna (Curtis) Carpenter, Paul (Allyn) Welscott, Craig (Diana) Welscott, Kevin (Jodi) Welscott, Katie (Bill) Leeuw, Karyn (Eric) Claudepierre, Charity Welscott-Byma, Jeremy Welscott-Byma, Jason (Rachel) Welscott-Byma, Steven (Charmaine) Veenman, Amy (Brian) Galiato, D.J. (Milada) Veenman; also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Ebenezer Reformed Church, 5166 East Ottogan, Holland, with Pastor Mike Ploeger officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 9, at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Ebenezer Reformed Church-missions or Hospice of Holland. www.langelandsterenberg.com

Tom and Ed and families so sorry to see your mom passed away. Our families had great times growing up together. My mom ( Angie Hartgerink ) continued that friendship through all these years. You will be in our prayers and thoughts. She will in heaven with Jesus during Easter. How awesome is that.
