Brodie Jacob LeFurge, age 21, passed away from complications of a lifelong medical condition, Saturday February 10, 2018. He was born in Manistee, on September 18, 1996. Brodie was raised in Holland. He attended Vanderbuilt Charter Academy until the 7th grade and then attended Holland Public Schools for the remainder of his education. He played soccer, football, and baseball in school. His true passion was music; specifically the drums which he started playing at age 8. Brodie appreciated all types of music and he also played in both school bands. Brodie had a easy going, laid back demeanor, and he loved his family. He had a giving heart and was always upbeat.
He is survived by his parents, Christina (Ron) Bouwman, Jon (Marcee) LeFurge; siblings, Chance, Ty, Jennifer (Mike) Janssen, Todd, Aisha, Sage, Callen, and Tanna; grand parents, Dave (Kathy) LeFurge, Josie Casper; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. Brodie was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Arnold Spurrel; great-grandmother, Doris LeFurge.
A funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 15, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Northwood Chapel. Pastor Chris Degraaf will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, Neurology Department - 100 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
