Charles "Chuck" Terpstra of Zeeland, age 75, passed away in the Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton, FL on Monday, January 16, 2017.
Chuck was a gentle, loving man who enjoyed singing, biking, travelling, and spending time with his family. He impacted many lives in this community during his 29 years of service at Holland Christian High School. He was a member of Victory Point Ministries and was actively involved in Grace Chapel. He gave back to the community by starting up the Holland Christian chapter of S.A.D.D., providing foster care for babies through Bethany Christian Services, and serving as a volunteer for CRWRC disaster relief, Hospice, Relay for Life, and CROP Walk. He also tutored children during a mission trip to Mexico.
Chuck was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and "Dolly" Terpstra from Lansing, IL and his father-in-law, Robert Rodenhouse. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary; children, Tamara (David) Posthuma, Julie (Bruce) Conroy, and Laura Terpstra; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are siblings, Gary Terpstra and Linda Sittema; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Dear Mary,
Sharon called a couple days ago to say that Chuck went home to be with Jesus. We knew he had been sick, but we were shocked and saddened to learn of his death. We fondly remember the times we spent together when you came to Arizona several years ago.

I worked with Chuck Terpstra a long time ago at Grand Valley State University (perhaps it was College at the time) and always enjoyed my association with him. He was in Counseling and I was in Financial Aids working for Ken Fridsma. He always impressed me as a fine Christian man. My sympathy to his wife. I remember her coming to bring him to work some mornings with his little girls still in their jammies Those were good years.
