Grandpa , I can“t believe it has almost been 5 years since you went home to the Lord. Somedays it feels I hugged you yesterday and others it feels a lifetime ago . I know you are in the glory and surrounded by so many that mean so much to you. For us down here there are a few missing links , but we know someday we will all be together again. That time is just not now. I send hugs up to you , Grandma, dad, mom, and so many more everyday. So much love to you today, tomorrow, and always . Love you : Meagan

It's been six months today. I miss you just as much today as I did six months ago. I hear your voice and see your smile every day. It used to be in person and now it is in my memory. There are days that my memories of you bring a smile to my face and warmth in my heart and then there are days that my memories of you bring tears to my eyes and sadness in my heart. I miss you dad, my best friend.

Happy Birthday Dad! Even though you are not with me on this place called earth anymore, I still celebrate you every day and will celebrate your birthday today. Dad, there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. I still miss everything about you. One thing I miss most, is coming over to visit, and when I walked in, your smile would light up the world and our conversation would go like this. I would say, Hi Dad. You would respond, Hi Peanut. I would ask, How are you? You would respond, Finer than frog's hair. I would respond, That fine, huh? You would respond, Yep. Dad, I miss you more than the words I am writing can express. Thanks for being a wonderful Dad and friend. Miss you tons.

I love you Grandpa and miss you so much. I am still in disbelief that I have lost two of the most important men in my life. I could never thank you or Grandma enough for raising my father to me the man that he is. Gramps I know we keep going on day by day but there is always something missing. Your spirit , love , and personality could make anyone feel better. I am blessed to call you my grandfather and even more blessed that my kids got to know you and you them. I miss you dearly and I truly hope you and my dad are having a blast. It is such an honor to be your granddaughter I love you to the moon and back ( or as you called the moon your bowling ball you threw up there)!! Love u always and hug dad for me. Love Meagan

I love you dad, always and forever.

As I am writing this, in two hours it will be two months since you passed away. There is not a single moment that I do not think of you. I have so many awesome memories. These great memories are what keep me going. I am blessed to have shared so many years with you and my life is enriched because of you. I have learned that my love for you continues and even continues to grow stronger than I thought possible. I am working through building a new kind of relationship with you, one that you are with me always and I feel closer to you. You are within me dad and I am part of you. I love you and miss you dad.

Dad, one month ago you entered into heaven. You are with all those that you loved who have been waiting for you. I miss you so very much and know one day we will be together again. I can't wait to hear you laugh and talk about your life as a young boy and all the things you and your brothers and sisters did as children. You were the best father a person could have and I thank you for that and God for blessing our family with you.
Love you and miss you every single day.
Your daughter, Marie Tanis

A month ago today, your presence on earth went away, but your memories will be with me forever. While I understand the process of life, which results in death, it still hurts. I am happy you are with your parents, siblings, son, nieces, nephews, and friends. I look forward to the day I am reunited with you. I cannot thank you enough dad for all the great times we had together. There are so many things I miss about you. I miss all the laughs, conversations, advice, your sense of humor, compassion, positivity, and more. Thank you for so many wonderful memories and thank you for being an awesome dad. I love you.
