Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol (Bosch) Nicol; two daughters, Sherill and Garry Boerman, Barbara and Timothy Van Huis; beloved grandchildren; Joseph Boerman, Allison Boerman, Dana Van Huis, Isaac Van Huis, Audrey Van Huis, Simon Van Huis, Ruby Van Huis, Lucy Van Huis; brother and sisters; Dennis Nicol, Frances and Diane Thompson, Judy and Bernie Kolkman; in-laws; Chet and Arloa DeZwaan, Cindy Groenewoud, Jan Bosch, Judy Bosch, Henry and Nancy Bosch, Shirley Bosch, Tom and Connie Koning, Gord and Ellyn Bosch, Earl and Cheryl Bosch, and Steve and Mary Slagh.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00-8:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
A private committal service is being planned at Gibson Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given in Bob's honor to Hospice of Holland.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Hallmark Living for their excellent care of dad over the last 5 years.

Even though I only knew Bob for a little while, I remember him a kind, gentle, and stoic man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his incredible family and friends. He will be missed.

Even though I did not visit him often, the visits I did have with him were enjoyable. He told me stories of growing up that I was not aware of. And he always had a joke to tell. He made me smile.
